We hope that this communication finds you and your family safe, healthy, and positive. We want to thank you for your continued patience with the current state of this COVID-19 situation, and our TYB program, as we have been working tirelessly to research and obtain as much reliable information in order to make an educated decision on the upcoming baseball season.

Following Governor Baker's announcement and guidance/direction on Monday, May 18th, combined with our own TYB Board of Directors Meeting on Thursday, May 21st, Tewksbury Youth Baseball is excited to announce that we are currently planning for a baseball season this year.

Assuming that the governor's timeline and phased approach remains on schedule, the 2020 TYB baseball season will take place with the following schedule:

* Parental Opt Out Period: May 23 - June 3
* Division Viability & Reorganization: June 4 - June 10
* Practices Begin: June 15th
* Games Begin: July 5th
* Season Ends: August 21st

After great research and discussion, it has been determined that a 2020 Baseball Season is greatly needed for our children and families, and something that many are still looking forward to, anticipating and hoping for. With that being said, it’s imperative that everyone know and understand that your cooperation and flexibility will be needed for us to be able to provide a safe baseball season for everyone.

At this time, we have only been provided with some vague guidelines, and we’re aware that very specific guidelines will be coming out as we get closer to the reopening phases. Research on what other states are currently doing to play baseball has been looked at and reviewed, and we are working to be prepared for what direction may be coming from the state and local government as actual guidelines and rules of play.

We want it to be made clear to everyone that there MAY BE requirements such as everyone signing a COVID-19 waiver, wearing a mask on the bench, players standing 6 feet apart outside and along the fence while their team is at bat, no sharing of equipment whatsoever, and possible fan limitations, just to name a few. Again, the specific guidelines and regulations have not been published as of yet, but these are some things that are currently taking place in other states.

We do understand and respect that not everyone is willing to dive right back into baseball or other activities, or just isn’t available during our proposed schedule for the season. With that in mind, it has been decided by the TYB Board of Directors to provide families with the opportunity to Opt Out (withdraw) your child from baseball for this season. The Refund Policy that has been decided upon will be as follows:

*If you choose to Opt Out between May 23-June 3 - FULL REFUND

**If you choose to withdraw your child ANYTIME ON OR AFTER June 4th -  REFUND OF REGISTRATION COST, MINUS $65

***If you choose to stay and play, and we are forced to cancel the season due to a change in the State Phased Timeline, those that chose to stay will receive a FULL REFUND

You will have two options for your REFUND: You can choose to receive you money back, or you can choose to carry it forward to next season's registration costs.

In order for us to move forward with the continued planning for our season, it is imperative that we get our registration numbers confirmed ASAP for the upcoming season. With that being said, we need you to click on only the link that applies to you and your child:

Again, we thank you for your patience while we were able to receive all of the necessary information to be able to make an educated and informed decision that we feel will allow us to provide your children with a safe and fulfilling 2020 baseball season. We hope that you and your family remain safe, healthy and positive throughout these times.
